Good Morning

This post is slightly more special to me than my others so far as this is my project that I have created as a Guest Designer for Indigo Blu

When I entered the blog competition back in September little did I realise that I would not only win but be given the opportunity to submit a piece of my work to help inspire others with my ideas,

The theme for set for this project is Monochrome, but I decided I wouldn't stick to the Black & White theme but went with Brown and all the varying shades of. I do hope you like it?

So here it is. As usual there is a list of what I've used together with some step by step processes

Indigo Blu Stamp Sets. ( Faith, Jane, English Flourish, Boadicea, Clock work, Crackleglaze & Beautiful Mind)

Stage 1

As this canvas has such a lovely finish I decided not to alter the main body of it. Using craft card I stamped the floral stamp from the Clock Work set using champagne sparkle ink pad together with the floral border stamp from the Boadicea set, then tore and using brushed courdory distress ink, inked the edges

Stage 2

For the tags, I stamped and embossed using clear embossing powder the inspirational words, over the background stamp of the Clock Work Flowers which was watermarked stamped using the champagne sparkle ink the blended the edges using Distress Inks

Stage 3

Now using various pieces of handmade papers I stamped other images using a selection of brown inks, tearing rather that cutting the images and inking the edges to give a distressed look

For the second tag I repeated as for the first tag using the English flourish as a background and again distressed the edges by using the distress inks. For this tag I threaded a small wooden tag onto the string and using a scrap of handmade paper stamped "courage" and glued this onto the wooden tag. For the message in the bottle I stamped the "Faith" image again on a scrap of paper and rolled it up and placed inside the bottle. For the label of the bottle I used the round word stamp from the Boadicea set and trimmed to a rectangle and glued on the front of the bottle

Stage 4

Using the border stamp from Boadicea and the adirondack ink I stamped a part element onto my mdf heart then coated in clear embossing powder in several layers giving a faux enamel look (you have to work quickly as this is a dye based ink so will dry before you get the embossing powder if you take too long!)

Stage 5

Now comes the assembling of the picture. Take your time and visit your piece several times making sure you are happy with it then once you are are take a "snap" for reference remove pieces and glue into place using a wet glue. For the larger elements I used a hot glue gun
